Self Expression Recordings has been specifically established to produce
and distribute the beautiful music of Composer, Musician and Therapist, Robert Boyd
"The obligation we have as temporary custodians of this Earth is to empower every activity with the focus that we have to leave this Earth in a better condition than when we set foot upon it. This thought should be paramount in all human minds in conjunction with the laws and principles of Nature."
All Robert Boyd's music is composed and recorded live on keyboards
set up and played like an organ including a pedal clavier. Robert does
not use multitrack construction techniques to produce his music. All his
music is live performance.
Robert started his musical life on the piano at a very early age. His
parents were amazed when he played a well known song on the family piano
at the age of three. Robert also learnt saxophone in his teenage years
where he played in a band for a short time. However his love of the keyboard
dominated where he extended his ability to church pipe organ and to the
cinema organ. In the early sixties he purchased a Hammond organ which
he played professionally together with the piano for over thirty years.
Throughout his musical career Robert was intensely interested in developing
his own compositions which he discovered early in life had a marked effect
on both humans and animals. His music had a calming quality which was
acknowledged by many people over the years, however it wasn't until his
late twenties that he realised his music had an immense value as a healing
tool.
Since that time Robert has set up his own recording studio and clinic
where he produces specialised music for therapeutic treatment.It was the many requests from his clients over the years that finally prompted him to produce his first commercial recording in 1997 and from there his recording career has blossomed.
His recordings have since received acclaim throughout Asia, the UK, Ireland, and America. All of Robert Boyd's CDs are suitable for general listening as well as for therapeutic work. Several tracks have been used for direct application work.
In March 2000 a set of his CDs was presented to Her Majesty the Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh during their visit to Australia. The CDs were part of the State Gift to the Royal couple.
